About SIMUtools 2024

SIMUTools 2024 is the 16th edition of the annual International Conference on Simulation Tools and Techniques. The conference focuses on a broad range of research challenges in the field of simulation, modeling and analysis, addressing current and future trends in simulation techniques, methods, models, practices and software and tools. The conference is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary collaborative research in these areas and across a wide spectrum of application domains.

Building on the success of the previous editions, this year’s edition will provide an exciting forum for interaction among academic and industry researchers together with practitioners from both the modeling and simulation community, the emulation community, the development community, and the different user communities. The SIMUTools 2024 conference will be held in Bratislava, Slovakia, on December 9-10, 2024.

The conference invites submissions on the topics below in all areas of modeling and simulation. Submissions in interdisciplinary areas are especially encouraged, such as: Transportation & Logistics, Production & Manufacturing, Smart Cities, Healthcare Systems, Telecommunication Systems, Energy Systems, Environmental Challenges, Bioinformatics, Mathematical Analysis and Simulation, Societal Challenges, Complex Systems, and so on. The conference also invites industrial case studies in the area of the platforms, tools, and technologies related to modeling and simulation.

We welcome contributions from the following fields:

  • Simulation methods: discrete event, Monte Carlo simulation, parallel and distributed simulation, agent-based simulation, simulation-optimization, symbiotic simulation, DEVS, cellular automata, lattice-Boltzmann, membrane computing, P-systems, Petri Nets, etc.
  • Simulation packages: widely used frameworks, both commercial as well as open-source.
  • Big data simulation and techniques: big data analysis, big data modeling and processing.
  • Simulation performance: GPU-based simulation, simulation in the cloud, scalability, performance analysis.
  • Simulation verification, validation, accreditation, and analysis.
  • Logistics and production simulation: Applications of simulation to optimize supply chain management, warehouse operations, production processes, and overall logistics efficiency.
  • Agent-based simulation: modeling complex systems using autonomous agents with specific behaviors and interactions, exploring the dynamics of decentralized decision-making and emergent phenomena.
  • AI and ML in simulation: integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques to enhance simulation models.
  • Simulation and approaches for big data: analysis, modeling, and processing.
  • Quality, metrics, and efficiency in applications of IoT and big data.
  • Simulation for decision support.
  • Hybrid simulation approaches.
  • Simulation and simulation tools in manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
  • Simulation in smart logistics.
  • Project management & construction.
  • Simulation in digital twins.
  • Quality and performance metrics for simulated systems.

All registered papers will be submitted for publishing by Springer – LNICST book series as an edited book and made available through SpringerLink Digital Library.

Proceedings will be submitted for inclusion in leading indexing services, such as Web of Science, Compendex, Scopus, DBLP, EU Digital Library, Google Scholar, IO-Port, MathSciNet, Inspec, and Zentralblatt MATH.
